Frequently asked questions
Can I set a timer for longer than an hour?
Yes. Enter any time up to 99 hours in the custom fields, or open a link such as tickpickr.com/#2h for a two-hour timer.
Does it keep running if I lock my phone?
Phones may pause web pages while the screen is locked, so the alarm can be late. For long timers on a phone, keep the screen on and the tab open; on a computer it keeps running in a background tab.
Will the alarm sound if I switch to another tab?
Yes. The timer keeps running in the background and the alarm plays when time is up, as long as the tab stays open and your device isn’t muted. The time left is also shown in the tab’s title.
Why is there no sound?
Check that "Alarm sound" is on, that your device isn’t muted, and on iPhone that the silent switch is off. Browsers only allow sound after you have clicked something on the page, so start the timer with a click or a key press.
